Start Before You’re Ready

January 3, 2016 by Cheri Dostal

We can do all the prep, get all the tools lined up, hire support, take courses, arrange our calendars and communicate our goals to people around us – and all of this is well and good if it helps us TAKE ACTION.

Otherwise, aren’t we stalling?

We can never fully know the risks and benefits involved with a journey, especially a deeply personal, transformative journey like one through practices like yoga, somatic inquiry and becoming embodied – uncovering more of what makes us US. We do our diligent work of getting ready, discerning what we want and which path we think we might benefit from – and then we must begin.

Beginnings hold great genius.

We can only reap the rewards and learn the lessons through ACTION. By ‘living our way into the answers’ as Rilke once said.

Start Somewhere Now. Trust yourself.

And follow the path, the progress – see it through with daily devotion.10688337_10152770608498685_5517701634141168697_o

Aren’t you worth it? I know you are. And through engaging in your own practice, you’ll trust it, too.

Staying power takes courage, persistence, and unwavering trust in your own potential. Time continues ticking along, and we get the beauty and terror and responsibility and reward of choosing what we do with it all. I help you discover just what you’re capable of in this territory of body, mind, health, fitness, soulful and dynamic living.

I can support you in this body-based adventure. Reach out for support, will you?

When my private clients begin a 4 month immersion term with me, we have 3 sacred expectations that we use, repeat, and uphold. One of them speaks to the inherent capacity we all hold for change, growth and expansion.

We are not destined to be stagnant creatures, we humans. We’re inquisitive, curious. Creative. We need nature. We are nature through this earthly, material body and breath. Our anatomy and brain and soul crave our devoted care and attention…and they hold answers to many of our deepest questions.

Movement helps us reach into ourselves and draw our most alive, present self out for the world to enjoy and witness.

Scary stuff at times to express ourselves, to release old patterns, to embrace the unknown (yet to me it feels like uncovering the authentic self that’s been there all along). For many women (you know who you are) it’s the only way to live – to engage with shakti and move, dance, change, celebrate.

For me, this life of studying, witnessing, moving, creating, practicing in and through my body IS Life.

Let’s get you started – engaging in life, with yourself, through conscious movement practice.

Big hug to you – we begin 2016 now. Together.

Cheri

“We all begin the process before we are ready, before we are strong enough, before we know enough; we begin a dialogue with thoughts and feelings that both tickle and thunder within us. We respond before we know how to speak the language, before we know all the answers, and before we know exactly to whom we are speaking.”
Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés

PS: My next 4 month Immersion Term is coming! (It’s a private mentoring program through movement, using skype or facetime to connect all around the globe!)

We begin in February and I have 2 places available…6 are already claimed by motivated, insightful women like you.

If you care to join us or feel curious about this opportunity, simply reach out here and we’ll chat personally. XO
