Breathing – Becoming – Embodied

July 27, 2016 by Cheri Dostal

“Now and again, it is necessary to seclude yourself among deep mountains and hidden valleys to restore your link to the source of life.

Breathe in and let yourself soar to the ends of the universe; breathe out and bring the cosmos back inside. Next, breathe up all fecundity and vibrancy of the earth. Finally, blend the breath of heaven and the breath of earth with your own, becoming the Breath of Life itself.”
– Morihei Ueshiba
When I contemplate breathing and eating and intimacy it’s a conversation between beings, a communion of self with the external world, bringing parts of our environment and nourishment and lover into ourselves and a part of us being released back out into the atmosphere as we exhale, eliminate, separate from other and reconnect with Self. Reuniting. Returning.

It is through our body that we make sense of the world and our own feelings. It is through this body that we ground down and show up, present to the moment in the earthly realm, and here through this body where we can transcend and connect with soul, spirit, divine source.

Having an experience begins with being embodied. Using our senses.

It is with, in and through the body that we live.

Becoming.

Embodied.

Some people call it enlightenment. Some people call it flow. Zen. Genius zone. Presence.

Life.

It happens here, within us, moment to moment.

With love,

Cheri
