EPIC: release your hips and shoulders!

July 3, 2017 by Cheri Dostal

EPIC

We all want an epic life, and you’re probably here because you’d like to include having epic fitness, an epic mindset and epic health. Today I’m sharing some nuggets from the Franklin Method that have changed my life and improved the lives (and bodies, fitness, etc) of many of my students and clients.

The secret weapon?

The Franklin Method!

In the Franklin Method, we use a 4 step process to break down how we can move from the current state of our body to a better state – like we may notice tension in our lower back and if we take a few minutes to check in and DO something about it, we can experience a loose, open, and relaxed lower back instead.

We create a new norm by practicing with this kind of awareness and skill.

EPIC stands for:

Evaluate

Plan

Implement

Compare

We go through this process all the time in life, at work, during workouts – but we often skip steps or only use a half-assed focus and thus, don’t really get the results we want. Or, we notice the thing we don’t like or want, but we feel stuck and don’t know how to change it.

I’m here to tell you that the majority of the time, you CAN dramatically improve your experience or function of your body, and often way faster than you may have imagined.

Enough talk, let’s practice.

After you watch and practice with me (KEY: do this with me, with your full attention on how your body feels) let me know in the comments what change you noticed, or which video you found the most useful.

And of course, visit back here as often as you like to make this a regular part of your week and feel great!

Cheers,

Cheri
